Most of the time, the real issue isn’t the external event itself, but the impact it has on us or on someone we care about.

Once you see that distinction, the question changes from “How do I control this?” to “How do I protect myself from its effects?”

That shift gives you agency.

You start preparing, adjusting, setting boundaries, and building buffers.

So, you may not be able to stop the storm, but you can reinforce the house.

And that’s often enough.
